Sports and Physical Activity

Our sports program encourages teamwork, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through a variety of activities offered throughout the year. Students have opportunities to participate in school-based programs, interschool competitions, and community partnerships.​

​​​​Swimming

Swimming lessons focus on water safety and stroke development. These sessions are held during Term 1 and Term 4 at local aquatic centres, with all year levels participating as part of the curriculum.​​


Athletics

Our athletics program includes track and field events such as sprints, long jump and shot put. Students train during PE lessons and showcase their skills at the annual Athletics Carnival in Term 2, with top performers progressing to district competitions.​


Cross country

Cross Country promotes endurance and fitness through long-distance running. Training occurs in PE classes and Run Club, culminating in the school Cross Country Carnival in Term 1, open to all students.


Run Club

Run Club is a before-school fitness initiative that builds stamina and encourages healthy habits. It runs weekly during Terms 1 and 2 and is open to all students who want to improve their running skills.


Ball Games

Ball Games develop coordination and teamwork through fun, competitive activities. These are practiced during PE and featured in school sports days, with participation from all year levels.


Gala day/Interschool Sports

Gala Days provide opportunities for students in Years 4–6 to compete in sports such as soccer, netball and touch football against other schools. These events occur in Terms 2 and 3 and foster school spirit and sportsmanship.


Aus-Kick Program

Aus-Kick introduces students to Australian Rules Football through fun drills and modified games. Sessions are held after school during Term 2 and are open to all year levels.


Basketball

Basketball clinics and team training develop skills in dribbling, shooting and teamwork. Competitions and friendly matches occur during Terms 2 and 3 for interested students.​


Touch

Touch football is offered as part of interschool sports and lunchtime programs. Students learn passing, strategy and game play, with competitions held in Terms 2 and 3.​


Netball

Netball teams train during lunch and after school, preparing for Gala Days and local competitions. This program runs in Terms 2 and 3 for Years 4–6.​


Tennis Lessons

Professional tennis coaching is offered on-site after school. Lessons run throughout the year for students of all skill levels, focusing on technique and game play.

Aus-Tag​

Aus-Tag combines rugby skills with a non-contact format, promoting agility and teamwork. Sessions are offered during interschool sports in Terms 2 and 3 for senior students.


Tae Kwon-Do​

Tae Kwon-Do classes teach discipline, self-defence​ and confidence. Lessons are held after school throughout the year and are open to all students.


Kokoda Challenge 

The Kokoda Challenge builds resilience and teamwork through endurance hiking events. Senior students train during Terms 1 and 2 and participate in the challenge mid-year, supported by staff and families.
