Our Community

Connected, Caring, Committed

At Jubilee, we believe in nurturing hearts as well as minds. Our community programs bring students, families and staff together to serve, celebrate and grow. These programs reflect Jubilee’s values of compassion, respect and unity. They empower students to become active citizens who care for others and celebrate diversity.

Charity & Outreach

Project Compassion (Caritas Australia)

Project Compassion is a nationwide Lenten appeal that supports vulnerable communities globally. At Jubilee, students lead creative fundraising activities such as themed days, coin collections and awareness campaigns. This initiative takes place during Lent each year and involves all year levels, supported by staff and families.

Helping Hands Program

Helping Hands is a practical way we care for families in need within our school community. Volunteers prepare frozen meals that are discreetly distributed to families experiencing hardship. This program runs throughout the year and includes staff, parent volunteers and senior students.

Annual Appeals (e.g., Wesley Mission Red Bag, Flood & Bushfire Relief)

Our annual appeals provide vital support to families during Christmas and in times of crisis. We set up collection points at school for donations of food, gifts and essentials. These drives occur during the Christmas season and whenever natural disasters strike, with participation from the entire school community.

Celebrating Culture & Faith

NAIDOC Week & National Sorry Day

Jubilee honours First Nations culture and promotes reconciliation through NAIDOC Week and National Sorry Day. Activities include assemblies, art projects and classroom learning led by staff and guest speakers. NAIDOC Week is celebrated in July and National Sorry Day in May, with all students and staff involved.

Italian Day

Italian Day is a vibrant celebration of language and cultural diversity. Students dress in Italian colours, enjoy themed activities and sample traditional foods. This event takes place annually in Term 3 and involves the whole school, with a special focus on language learners.

Whole School Liturgies & Jubilee Day

Our liturgies and Jubilee Day bring the entire community together in faith and celebration. Jubilee Day features a liturgy followed by activity rotations, games and a shared lunch. Liturgies occur throughout the year, while Jubilee Day is held in Term 4, involving students, staff, families and parish partners.

Community Partnerships

Parent Support Program (PSP)

The Parent Support Program strengthens school-home connections by inviting parents to assist in classrooms, help with events and support learning activities. This volunteer initiative runs all year and is open to parents and carers who want to be actively involved in school life.

Local Church Connections

Jubilee partners with Catholic, Apostolic, Anglican, and Uniting Churches to enrich our faith community. These partnerships include shared worship, guest visits and joint projects throughout the year, involving students, staff and local clergy.

Kokoda Challenge & Service Drives

The Kokoda Challenge and service drives promote resilience and empathy among students. Senior students train and participate in endurance walks, while the school student participants organise donation drives for the local cause. The Kokoda Challenge takes place late Term 2/early Term 3, entries and training commence in Term 1 and service drives occur as needed, with support from staff and families.
